Summer 2008 Swim Fitness Activity Schedule

Early Bird Swim
Start your day with an invigorating swim!  Enjoy supervised lap swimming with lanes designated for slow, medium and fast swimmers.

Lap Swim
Enjoy this great year-round fitness activity!  Supervised lap swimming for all levels of ability.

Adult Swim
Co-ed lessons and practice time for age 18 and older.
Beginning:  Have you always wanted to learn how to swim but didn't know where to go to get started?  Get comfortable in the water as you learn the front and back crawl strokes.
Continuing:  Work on stroke technique (including front crawl, breast and sidestroke) to improve efficiency for fitness or competition.  Develop your strokes for the pre-course swim test for Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard course.  Must be comfortable in deep water.
Continuing Swimmer PLUS: Practice your skills one additional night per week.  Attend the Monday evening Lap Swim at East for an additional $15.

Wet Workout 
Age 13+
Enjoy the benefits of exercising in the water.  You do not need to know how to swim in order to participate in this refreshing, shallow-water workout for men and women.  You'll feel better and look better as you exercise to improve cardio-vascular fitness, flexibility, coordination and muscle tone.

Trim and Swim
Are you looking for a chance to cross train?  Stretch and strengthen your whole body while increasing your flexibility and cardio-vascular endurance.  This class encourages men and women to work at their own ability level.
1st hour:  Warm-ups, light aerobics and floor exercises, followed by a cool-down.
2nd hour:  Exercises done in shallow water (no swimming skills are required.).
Swimmers may choose to swim laps in deep water.  the water's resistance and buoyancy help provide a total body workout without stress to your muscles and joints.
