Driver Education

Register beginning August 1, 2008 for Driver Education ONLINE or at the  Recreation Department office.

Limited spaces available;  all registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Choose a QUALITY Driver Education Program!

Classroom Theory

  • Students must be at least 15 years old to begin Classroom Theory.
  • Fee must be paid in full when application form is submitted.  No Refunds
  • Course consists of 30 hours. Perfect attendance is required.
  • All registration for Classroom Theory is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • 2008 - 09 Fall/Winter/Spring Classroom Theory Schedule:

Behind the Wheel

  • Scheduling of Behind-the-Wheel is done by the Driver Education Coordinator (generally by birth date).
  • Class meets Monday through Friday; specific dates will be determined by the instructor.
  • Students must be 15 years and 6 months to begin Behind-the-Wheel.
  • Course consists of 11 lessons (1 hour  and ten minutes, each).
  • Perfect attendance is required.

Fees:

Students of High School age:  $335 (includes residents and non-residents of Wauwatosa)

The Wauwatosa School District's Driver Education Program offers:
DPI 450 Licensed Instructors
All of our instructors are DPI (Department of Public Instruction) certified teachers specializing in driver training, who are updated annually in traffic safety laws and techniques.

Wauwatosa East High School and Wauwatosa West High School
Convenient Times
Evening classroom schedules accommodate students who participate in after-school activities and sports.
Flexible Behind-the-Wheel Schedules include after-school or daytime study hall hours that fit into busy schedules.
